چکیده

13 The sublimation enthalpy of cubane, a key reference material for force field and quantum mechanical computations, was measured by combining the vaporization enthalpy at T = 298.15 K to the sum of the fusion enthalpy measured at T = 405 K and a solid–solid phase transition that occurs at T = 394 K. The fusion and solid–solid phase transitions were measured previously. A sublimation enthalpy value of (55.2 ± 2.0) kJ mol−1 at T = 298.15 K was obtained. This value compares quite favorably the value obtained by comparing the sublimation enthalpy of similar substances as a function of their molar masses but is at odds with earlier measurements. 14

Measuring enthalpy of sublimation of volatiles by means of micro-thermogravimetry for the study of water and organic in planetary environments

In this work, we present a new experimental set up to infer the enthalpy of sublimation for a known specie of dicarboxylic acid, i.e. adipic acid. This type of acids, with various concentrations are present in different environments (e.g. marine, rural, urban). The experiment is performed in the framework of the VISTA (Volatile In Situ Thermogravimetry Analyser) project, an instrument currently...

A protocol for correcting experimental fusion enthalpies to 298.15 K and it's application in indirect measurements of sublimation enthalpy at 298.15 K

A protocol for adjusting fusion enthalpies as a function of temperature is described. The protocol combines two simple relationships previously proposed to adjust sublimation and vaporization enthalpies with temperature. This new protocol provides improved accuracy and precision relative to the other theoretical and empirical methods tested. Experimental fusion and vaporization enthalpies measu...

Study of the Anomalous Thermochemical Behavior of 1,2-Diazines by Correlation-Gas Chromatography

The vaporization enthalpies and liquid vapor pressures of quinoxaline, quinazoline, phthalazine, benzo[c]cinnoline, 1,10-phenanthroline, phenazine, and triphenylamine are measured by correlation-gas chromatography and compared to values calculated from available literature vaporization, sublimation, and fusion enthalpy data. Good agreement with the literature is observed for all compounds excep...

Determination of Sublimation Enthalpy and Vapor Pressure for Inorganic and Metal-Organic Compounds by Thermogravimetric Analysis

Metal compounds and complexes are invaluable precursors for the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of metal and non-metal thin lms. In general, the precursor compounds are chosen on the basis of their relative volatility and their ability to decompose to the desired material under a suitable temperature regime. Unfortunately, many readily obtainable (commercially available) compounds are not of su...

An examination of the thermodynamics of fusion, vaporization, and sublimation of (R,S)- and (R)-flurbiprofen by correlation gas chromatography.

The vaporization, fusion, and sublimation enthalpies of (R,S)- and (R)-flurbiprofen at T = 298.15 K are reported and compared with literature values when available. Correlation gas chromatography experiments were first performed to identify appropriate standards that could be used for materials containing a single fluorine substituent. Subsequent correlations resulted in a vaporization enthalpy...
